Public briefing · no account required

## The regulator briefing.

Source files and review questions. No software required.

01

### What is available to inspect

Public player-information resources, a design-source review, two public staff-learning programs and illustrative assessment reports. Brand source files may be used and adapted for free under CC0. Each other product has its own access and reuse terms.

- [Free player resources →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/brand/content/collateral/>)
- [Public learning and course access →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/academy/#programs>)

02

### What the evidence supports

The research informs design choices and candidate measures. No Playbook-specific player-outcome study is presented establishing lasting literacy gains or reduced gambling harm. A proposed evaluation plan identifies questions, comparisons, measures and reporting needs.

- [Evidence types and source limits →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/evidence/>)
- [Proposed evaluation plan →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/evidence/#evaluation>)

03

### What must be localized

Match the module to the operator, licensed activity, game, channel and publication date. Check its source verification/review dates and current authority. Review disclosures, contacts, age notices, translation, accessibility, consent and the actual working product. A template or module is not regulatory approval.

- [Jurisdiction scope, dates and references →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/brand/compliance/>)

04

### What to request from an operator

Request the approved scope; exact asset versions and placements; local-rule references; named owners; review and publication decisions; staff preparation; evidence dates; and pilot methods and findings. Assess the records and the rationale behind any claim. A quality tier and external sign-off answer different questions.

- [Illustrative rollout and responsibilities →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/example-program/>)

05

### How to use this without adopting software

Use the public files and questions in your own review process, document system or research protocol. No Playbook account, software licence, product mandate or certification is required to read this briefing. Any formal procurement, operator requirement or regulatory decision remains with the responsible authority.

How regulators use it

## How each product supports oversight.

A jurisdiction can adopt the player-education program, train regulatory or operator staff, require documented checks, or use the review framework as a benchmark. Each product can be used independently.

1. 01

   ### Adopt Brand

A baseline to adapt and review

Run the public education program as your own.

Adapt the free Brand resources to your jurisdiction’s identity, languages, support services, and requirements.

[Explore Brand →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/brand/>) [Browse the content →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/brand/content/>)
2. 02

   ### Train with Academy

    Your staff, or theirs

Inspect the training proposed for player-facing staff.

Inspect free courses and specialist previews. Check local preparation and assessment; completion alone does not establish role readiness.

[Explore Academy →](<https://www.playbookrg.com/academy/>) [Open the Academy ↗](<https://academy.gamblingpolicy.com>)
3. 03

   ### Inspect content-review examples

    Checks built into the work

Review advertising and games before launch.

Inspect drafts, findings, revisions, and decisions. Confirm scope, access, and data terms before using operator submissions.

4. 04

   ### Verify with Review

    Oversight on the record

Verify each credential against its evidence.

Read each finding with its framework, scope, evidence date, and external-review status.

Why open

## Inspect the basis before relying on the result.

Ask for the applicable framework and version, the assessment scope, and access to the evidence behind the findings. The overview and worked example explain what to look for.

### Applicable criteria

Confirm which criteria, channels, and evidence period are in scope. A general framework overview does not replace the instrument used for a particular assessment.

### Explainable findings

Inspect the evidence, rationale, and applicable scoring rules. A repeatable roll-up is separate from the judgment involved in assessing the underlying records.

### Current evidence and decisions

Check the versions and dates behind a result. If the evidence has changed, establish which assessment and reviewer decision cover the current record.

Oversight in practice

## How to read a credential.

Every credential shows both program quality and verification status. Only an independent reviewer can mark a credential as externally verified.

Quality tier

Committed

The operator has adopted the standard and begun collecting evidence. This tier does not claim that the full baseline has been met.

Quality tier

Reviewed

The platform assessment places the program at the applicable standard. This quality label alone does not establish external sign-off.

Quality tier

Reviewed with Distinction

The program meets the baseline and demonstrates additional strength across the framework’s domains.

### Request the records needed to assess the claim.

Arrange access for the authorized scope and confirm its duration and limits. Inspect the records used for the assessment, the findings they support, and the reviewer decisions that apply to them.

- Findings set out by domain, practice area, and criterion
- Evidence sources, versions, dates, and responsible people
- Assessment rationales, corrections, and reviewer decisions
- The framework version used to calculate each score

The evidence base

## Built on published research.

The framework is anchored in the informed choice model and aims at the outcomes the Positive Play Scale measures. Each idea cites its source, and the full argument is public.

Jurisdictions

## Localized to your market.

Jurisdiction modules map the content to local advertising rules for U.S. states, Canadian provinces, the United Kingdom, Malta, and Denmark. New modules are developed in the open, and additional markets can be proposed.
